The painting Lahul depicts a majestic mountain landscape rendered in a striking palette of blues and grays, with touches of ochre and white. In the foreground, a cluster of geometric, fortress-like buildings is perched on a rocky, ochre-colored outcrop. These structures, with their flat roofs and cubic forms, stand in stark contrast to the organic curves of the surrounding mountains.
The midground and background are dominated by layered mountains, receding in size and intensity of color as they stretch towards the horizon. The mountains are painted in varying shades of blue, from deep, rich indigo to lighter, ethereal sky blues, suggesting depth and distance. Snow-capped peaks, rendered in sharp white and pale gray, break through the atmospheric haze in the far distance, their forms simplified and almost abstract. The sky above is a soft, muted gray with hints of pale blue and white clouds.
