The painting "Lise with Umbrella" is one of the author’s most lively and three-dimensional works. The play of light and darkness on the canvas gives the composition greater volume and expression, which makes the work of art appealing to the eye. The main figure of the painting is Lisa Treu, a girl who was ardently loved by the artist. For a long time Lisa was in a relationship with the artist, but over time the couple decided to break it off.
Description of the painting "Lise with an Umbrella" by Pierre-Auguste Renoir
The painting "Lise with Umbrella" is one of the author’s most lively and three-dimensional works. The play of light and darkness on the canvas gives the composition greater volume and expression, which makes the work of art appealing to the eye.
The main figure of the painting is Lisa Treu, a girl who was ardently loved by the artist. For a long time Lisa was in a relationship with the artist, but over time the couple decided to break it off. This was a shock for Lisa, but a few years later her life turned out well: she married the architect and completely forgot about her broken heart.
The girl is depicted full-length in a beautiful white dress with a black ribbon tied around her chest. The ends of the ribbon, along with the hem of the dress, are quite long. The abundance of white is associated with purity, lightness, and tenderness that the author felt for his beloved. The girl’s left hand clutches an umbrella, which protects the heroine from the sunlight. The dark umbrella with the lace pattern creates a contrast of the picture together with the black belt. This technique gives the image juiciness and harmony. Lisa’s head is tilted to the right, her beautiful face expresses kindness, and her lips are curved in a faint smile. The girl’s dark hair is barely visible from beneath a light hat, and her hair is gathered at the back with a scarlet ribbon running down her shoulders.
The background consists of highlights, alternating a variety of colors. This gives the impression that the material for the artist’s painting was the light itself, drawing intricate patterns and contours of the most varied shades. The outlines of the background behind the girl make it clear that she is in an open space such as a garden, a forest or a meadow. The canvas is drawn more clearly, brightly and vividly, probably because during the painting the artist tried to convey as realistically and accurately as possible the feelings that he feels for Lisa Treu.

The picture has something of this: people, veil, wear, woman, lid, dress, portrait, costume, child, man, retro, traditional, magic, bonnet, girl.
Perhaps it’s a painting of a woman in a white dress and hat holding a black and white umbrella in a wooded area with a large tree in the background.
