Художник-пейзажист И. И. Шишкин был непревзойденным мастером в написании соснового леса. “Сосны, освещенные солнцем” – одно из лучших созданий мастера. Этюд, написанный с натуры, выглядит как вполне законченная, строго продуманная в своей композиции картина. Все – и стволы деревьев, и молодая хвоя, и сухая земля кустиками растущих на ней трав – нарисовано и выписано в этюде самым тщательным образом.

Мы видим, как солнце золотит прямые стволы сосен, развертывается лесная жизнь со всеми ее приметами и подробностями. Срезая рамой верхушки стволов, этот прием мы заметили и в других его работах, художник усиливает впечатление огромных деревьев, которым, кажется, не хватает места на полотне. Мощные вековые сосны даны во всей своей красоте. Каждая сосна красива по-своему, но в целом, это единый мир природы, полный жизненных сил. Чудится терпкий запах сосен, кажется, что хрустнет под ногами сосновая шишка. Очень много солнца и света исходит от этой картины.

“Сосны, освещенные солнцем” – один из наиболее поэтических пейзажей художника. Он напоен душистым запахом нагретых солнцем сосен, ароматом трав и цветов, какой-то ликующей радостью яркого летнего дня. В этом полотне привлекает не столько линейная композиция, сколько гармония светотени и цвета.

“В. В. Верещагин, посмотрев этюд “Сосны, освещенные солнцем”, сказал: “Да, вот это живопись! Глядя на полотно, я, например, совершенно ясно ощущаю тепло, солнечный свет и до иллюзии чувствую аромат сосны”.

Картина “Сосны, освещенные солнцем” была написана И. И. Шишкиным в 1886 году. В этот период художник особенно много работал над этюдами, пытаясь найти решения для самых разнообразных задач, которые ставила перед ним живопись.

Некоторые крупные этюды художника явно переросли рамки учебной работы, и воспринимаются сегодня нами как вполне завершенные пейзажные работы, хорошо продуманные по своей композиции. К таким произведениям относится картина “Сосны, освещенные солнцем”.

В произведении “Сосны, освещенные солнцем” на первое место Шишкин поставил попытку создания общей атмосферы пейзажа.
Результат оказался прекрасным – картина подкупает зрителя очень необычным и свежим цветовым решением, убедительностью и задушевностью.

Мы видим, как ласково солнце касается прямых стволов деревьев. Мощные сосны показаны живописцем во всей красе. Их верхушки художник “срезал” рамой – и это создает ощущение величия деревьев, которым словно не хватает места на холсте. Каждое дерево – индивидуально и красиво по-своему, и в каждом – неистощимый запас жизненной мощи.

Все детали картины – и кора сосен, и хвоя, и кустики зеленой травы на сухой земле – написаны с большой жизненной убедительностью, самым тщательным образом. Жизнь леса разворачивается перед нами во всех нюансах и подробностях. Поэтому очень просто “раствориться” в атмосфере картины. 2. The authors concept and its embodiment in early works, exemplified by the painting Pines Illuminated by Sunlight.
Shishkins creative development progressed not only towards greater generalization and monumentalization of images but also along the path of mastering emotional and coloristic elements. Kramskoy had a significant influence on this process. He observed that while the landscape painters works conveyed the mood of a place and were excellent in their technical execution, they lacked the ability to capture the local colors, and the artist lacked the subtle understanding of nature characteristic of the younger generation of artists ().
Shishkin worked diligently on this, painting outdoors and increasingly focusing on the problems of color, light, and air. Perhaps the most outstanding result of this work was the large study Pines Illuminated by Sunlight, painted in 1886 near Sestretsk. Although the purpose of the study is to create a general atmosphere of the landscape and explore techniques, in this case, the study, thanks to its compositional completeness and the creation of a full impression, clearly goes beyond the boundaries of academic painting and is perceived as a finished and thoughtful landscape work.
In the foreground are two sunlit trunks that attract the main attention due to various lighting techniques. Because the left pine tree is painted against a darker background, its trunk appears lighter, making the trees more individual. The tops of the pines are trimmed – this creates a sense of grandeur and size, which is not easy to capture on canvas. The author skillfully conveys their individuality, endows them with strength and power. Shishkin achieves realism in the study by meticulously depicting the bark of the pines in the foreground, fresh needles, dry soil, and sparse vegetation under the trees, creating an impression of complete immersion in the work.
The very title Pines Illuminated by Sunlight suggests the relatively minor importance of the background. In the second plane, a tree trunk behind the pines is obscured by foliage and shadow, preventing a proper examination of its details. There is also a group of trees in the shade, depicted at a distance from the left pine. Two small and one large pine can be seen, followed by bushes. By using shadows and lighting, the artist manages to highlight the two foreground pines from the overall composition, making the second plane less noticeable. The background forest due to its blurriness is also inconspicuous and does not have primary importance in the study. Картина “Сосны, освещенные солнцем” была написана И. И. Шишкиным в 1886 году. В этот период художник особенно много работал над этюдами, пытаясь найти решения для самых разнообразных задач, которые ставила перед ним живопись.

В произведении “Сосны, освещенные солнцем” на первое место Шишкин поставил попытку создания общей атмосферы пейзажа.
Результат оказался прекрасным – картина подкупает зрителя очень необычным и свежим цветовым решением, убедительностью и задушевностью.

Мы видим, как ласково солнце касается прямых стволов деревьев. Мощные сосны показаны живописцем во всей красе. Их верхушки художник “срезал” рамой – и это создает ощущение величия деревьев, которым словно не хватает места на холсте. Каждое дерево – индивидуально и красиво по-своему, и в каждом – неистощимый запас жизненной мощи.

Все детали картины – и кора сосен, и хвоя, и кустики зеленой травы на сухой земле – написаны с большой жизненной убедительностью, самым тщательным образом. Жизнь леса разворачивается перед нами во всех нюансах и подробностях. Поэтому очень просто “раствориться” в атмосфере картины. Легко представить, что сам идешь по сосновому бору, чувствуешь прикосновение к щеке горячего солнечного луча, ощущаешь под ногами колючую сосновую шишку и вдыхаешь душистый запах смолы.

Among all Russian landscape painters, Shishkin undoubtedly holds the place of the most outstanding artist. In all his works, he demonstrates himself as an amazing connoisseur of plant forms – trees, foliage, grass, reproducing them with a subtle understanding of both the general character and the smallest distinguishing features of any species of tree, bush, and herb. Whether he depicted a pine or spruce forest, individual pines and spruces, just as accurately as their combinations and mixtures, he gave them their true face, without embellishments or exaggerations – with that appearance and those details that are perfectly explained and determined by the soil and climate where the artist made them grow. Whether he portrayed oaks or birches, they took on incredibly realistic forms in their foliage, branches, trunks, roots, and all details. The very landscape under the trees – stones, sand, or clay, unevenness of the ground covered with ferns and other forest grasses, dry leaves, brushwood, fallen trees, and so on – acquired in Shishkins paintings and drawings a sense of perfect reality, as close to the real thing as possible.

Of all the artists works, the painting Morning in a Pine Forest is the most widely known. The idea for it was suggested to Ivan Shishkin by Konstantin Apollonovich Savitsky, but it is not impossible that the impetus for this canvas came from the 1888 landscape Fog in a Pine Forest, which, like The Upheaval, was likely painted after a trip to the Vologda forests. Apparently, Fog in a Pine Forest, which was successfully exhibited at the traveling exhibition in Moscow (now in a private collection in the Czech Republic), inspired Shishkin and Savitsky with a mutual desire to paint a similar landscape with an unusual genre scene featuring playful bears. After all, the leitmotif of the famous 1889 painting is precisely the fog in a pine forest.

The interesting genre motif introduced into the painting largely contributed to its popularity, but the true value of the work lies in the beautifully conveyed state of nature. This is not just a dense pine forest, but specifically morning in the forest with its fog that has not yet dissipated, with easily blushed tops of huge pines, and cold shadows in the thickets. One feels the depth of the ravine, the wilderness. The presence of a bear family located on the edge of this ravine creates in the viewer a sense of remoteness and wildness – truly a bears corner.

The painting Ship Grove (the largest in size in Shishkins work) is like the final, concluding image in the epic he created, symbolizing heroic Russian strength. The realization of such a monumental design, as this work, testifies that the sixty-six-year-old artist was at the peak of his creative powers, but there his path in art ended. On March 8 (20), 1898, he died in his studio behind an easel, on which stood a new, just begun painting Forest Kingdom.
