Beautiful graphic works, each featuring an outline and decorative, flat representation. Theres a presence of floral ornaments, but the flowing lines that are considered a key characteristic of Art Nouveau, I dont see here. Its simply decorative graphics in an illustrative style. This predates Gustav Klimt and Alphonse Mucha; Art Nouveau is about something new, and there isnt anything particularly novel here. Perhaps only Gustav Klimts Danaë is truly interesting, and The Kiss is a beautiful work. But mostly, its graphics for illustrators!
A pleasant and light portrait where butterflies in the background create a kingdom of Flora effect; All works feature a mixed style rooted in symbolism.

She is draped in what appears to be a loosely gathered garment, also in pale tones, which she holds gently clasped within her hands. This gesture conveys vulnerability and a sense of seeking solace or protection. Surrounding the figure are stylized lilies, their white forms contrasting with the warm palette of the rest of the composition. These flowers appear almost ethereal, contributing to an overall feeling of spiritual elevation.
The background is dark and indistinct, pushing the focus entirely onto the central figure. This creates a sense of isolation, yet also emphasizes her inner world. The artist employed a technique that blurs edges and softens forms, creating a dreamlike quality. Light seems to emanate from within the woman herself, illuminating her face and hair with an almost otherworldly glow.
Subtly, the painting evokes themes of purity, innocence, and perhaps mourning or contemplation. The lilies are traditionally associated with resurrection and virtue, which could suggest a narrative of loss and hope. The closed eyes invite viewers to project their own emotions onto the figure, fostering a sense of empathy and shared experience. Overall, the work conveys an atmosphere of quiet spirituality and profound emotional depth.
