STANINA seems to originate from something equally impressive.
Twelve basins need to be removed from the device at a specific height. The arrangement is not proportional.
Great! The shine of the body, the transparency of the water, and the heat in the sauna feel almost real.
So, this is what you Swedes are like?
Swedish women are amazing!
It would be fantastic if the Swedish national hockey team in Sochi were featured like that!
Girls from Dalarna in the bathhouse. Artwork by Anders Zorn.
Boris Khanin
He loved the Swedish countryside,
With its unique beauty.
He appreciated every blade of grass here.
Dalarna was always his soul.
He also valued the women of Dalarna,
Who were sometimes not distinguished
By their appearance from village girls
And refined beauty.
Not torturing himself with the plot,
Or the drama of the canvas,
He is captivated by this,
By the natural form that is given
To the bodies of healthy
Women. You cant take your eyes off them.
He chose peasants as his heroes – you couldnt just pass them by.
He saw the peasant women in the bathhouse.
On the reflections of fire in the stove,
His attention, as an artist,
Was drawn to their bodies.
They are beautiful, erotic,
Glistening from water procedures.
The atmosphere here is familiar to them.
There is harmony between the two figures.
Heated by steam
And slightly tired,
Their bodies attract our gaze.
They look at the stove from afar,
Where the flame quietly fades
And reflects in their eyes.
And its color reminds us of
The color of a ribbon that is in their hair.

In this oil painting, Women bathing in the sauna, two nude women are depicted in a dimly lit, rustic setting that suggests a traditional sauna. The artist uses a soft, warm palette, with prominent use of flesh tones, browns, and hints of red, creating an intimate and enclosed atmosphere.
In the foreground, a woman with her back to the viewer is seated, leaning into a large wooden tub. Her posture is relaxed, and the curve of her back and shoulders are rendered with broad, confident brushstrokes. Her hair is done up and tied with a red ribbon.
Behind her, another woman stands, her body illuminated by an unseen light source. She is posed gracefully, one arm extended as she holds a ladle or scoop, perhaps to pour water or attend to the stove. Her skin glows with a warm, rosy hue. She also has red ribbons in her hair.
The background is rendered in darker tones, with suggestions of wooden walls and possibly a stove or heating element, typical of a sauna environment. The interplay of light and shadow accentuates the figures forms and adds depth to the scene.
