Description of Claude Monet’s painting Sunflowers
The famous French painter Claude Monet, one of the main creators of Impressionism, created a unique work of art, Sunflowers, in 1881. He learned and gained experience from the great masters, who gave him all their secrets and skills. The artist worked a lot in nature, trying to convey all its color and brightness of colors on the canvas. He was able and loved to work with paints, creating unique creations and masterpieces in painting. The painting is in oil on canvas.
"Sunflowers" was painted at a time when Monet found his unique style in art. The protagonist of the painting are sunflowers, which stand in a vase. They cast all shades of yellow, red and orange. Looking at them, you can see the obvious yellow color, but looking closer, the original play of colors begins. This is difficult to achieve, only great personalities can do it.
The flowers are arranged in different directions, which symbolizes the natural essence of the plant, it reaches for the sun and light. What is surprising is that no flower is similar to any other, after a closer look you can see that they are completely different, just like we humans. Monet creates unique reflections on the walls that the sunflowers cast. This shows that they bring positive energy and light to the world, even in the most desperate situation.
The vase is too small for these flowers and in real life we would hardly fit this bouquet into it, so let it, Monet thinks, he shows by this that it is only a minor instance, just for color. The proportions on the canvas absolutely contradict each other, but that’s what makes this genius work of the master attractive. Sunflowers occupy the entire space of the painting, leaving no room for anything else. They are the heroes and the whole world belongs to them.
This is a great work of the artist, which was recognized as talented only after his death.
