A wonder that has stood for centuries! Glory to the people who conceived, created, erected, and preserved this column for future generations – the Russian people. May God grant our current generation the ability to create something equally magnificent.
I cant understand how they lifted and placed 600 tons of granite; it would be impossible to do that now without a doubt.
The painting is great, I really liked it. But unfortunately, the comments ruined it. Theres just a certain lack of education displayed.
1. This column is associated with many non-Russian surnames.
2. Nowadays, the Proton-M rocket, weighing 705 tons, is lifted and even launched into space with ease.
Очень часто трудно узнать даты рождения и смерти художников и их имя и отчество
You cannot comment Why?
Below the column, a throng of people fills the foreground, meticulously rendered with individual details suggesting a diverse crowd – soldiers in uniform, civilians in formal attire, and onlookers observing the proceedings. Their arrangement creates a sense of organized chaos, hinting at both the scale of the undertaking and the public interest it generates. The artist has paid particular attention to depicting their expressions and postures; some appear engaged in conversation, others seem absorbed in watching the construction, while still others are positioned as if awaiting instructions or participating in the event.
Behind the column, a grand architectural structure rises into the sky. It appears to be a large building with arched openings and decorative elements, suggesting an official or ceremonial function. Figures can be seen atop this edifice, further reinforcing its importance within the scenes narrative. The muted color palette – primarily grays, browns, and creams – contributes to a sense of solemnity and grandeur.
The composition’s perspective directs the viewers eye towards the column, underscoring its significance as the focal point of the event. The inclusion of text at the bottom suggests that this is a documentary depiction intended to record an important historical moment. Subtly, the artwork conveys themes of national pride, engineering prowess, and collective effort. It speaks to the ambition of large-scale projects and the role of public spectacle in shaping cultural memory.
