This painting is another study by Ilya Repin dedicated to Ukraine. It depicts a typical dwelling of the Ukrainian people – a hut, which is a simple structure with a roof made of branches and straw. Such dwellings are relatively easy to build because Ukraine does not experience harsh climatic conditions. The bright summer day makes this painting truly warm, heartfelt, and inviting. The green trees near the hut, a stack of hay, a shed, and a rooster strolling nearby all point to the lifestyle of a Ukrainian peasant. The white walls of the hut bring cleanliness and freshness to the painting. And the blue sky evokes peace and tranquility.
очень душевно!

This painting depicts a traditional Ukrainian village scene, likely from the early 20th century given the style. The focal point is a white-washed hut with a distinctive thatched roof, characteristic of Ukrainian rural architecture. The hut has several small, square windows with shutters, and a simple wooden door. In front of the hut, theres a worn dirt pathway.
To the left of the main hut, there appears to be an adjoining structure, also with a thatched roof, possibly a shed or another section of the dwelling. The area is grassy and somewhat unkempt, with patches of wildflowers. In the foreground, a lone child is visible, standing or playing, and a couple of chickens peck at the ground. Two trees with sparse, green foliage stand near the hut, casting dappled shadows. In the background, a line of taller trees forms a natural border. The sky is bright blue with scattered, wispy clouds, suggesting a pleasant, sunny day.
