Private collectors presented rare paintings to the Pushkin Museum Automatic translate
Two paintings left private collections, becoming a significant gift for private collectors to the A.S. State Museum of Fine Arts Pushkin in honor of his 100th birthday.
The relationship of official museums to private collectors is somewhat ambiguous. Museum workers are often unhappy that "art collectors" tear out objects of interest to them from the context of the cultural environment. In turn, collectors reasonably note that the official structures of Russia are simply not able to provide a valuable canvas worthy of storage. And they got used to tartly answer all claims to themselves: “Why don’t you demonstrate to society the masterpieces stored in closed funds?” However, it was thanks to the activities of private collectors that it was possible not only to save from the destruction of a myriad of unique works, but also to develop many areas of art. In addition, there are frequent cases when museum expositions are replenished thanks to donations from collectors.
This happened on May 23, 2012 with the State Museum of Fine Arts A.S. Pushkin. Two passionate fans of painting decided to give the museum a gift in honor of the 100th anniversary. Perchenko Mikhail Efremovich presented the picture of the beginning of the 17th century - “Merry Society” by Dirk Hals, and Goryashchenko Mikhail Grigoryevich presented a still life of the 18th century German painter - Adami Borni.
Visitors to the museum will be able to get acquainted with the paintings until the end of August by visiting the exhibition “Portraits of Collectors”, which, thanks to the efforts of private individuals, contains beautiful examples of Western European and Russian art.
