Excursion tour of the exposition of modern sculpture in Kiev

On June 23, in the Kiev Botanical Garden, which became the venue for the first international festival of modern sculpture, a small excursion was held under the guidance of renowned art critic Lyudmila Lysenko.

The depth of some works cannot be understood without knowing what served as a source of inspiration for its author, in which cultural and historical space his talent was brought up. It is not surprising that many people of Kiev decided to spend Saturday evening not in the usual four walls, but in the company of a unique researcher of creativity, a candidate of art history, a teacher at the National Kiev Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture.

The Sculpture Project, which unfolded this year, is a kind of experiment, a test of whether Ukrainians are ready to host an international festival of this level. However, it is much more important how they are able to understand current trends. Do such unconventional sculptures influence the soul of the people? Lyudmila Lysenko strove to demonstrate the best aspects of the work presented on the project, to explain what goals the author set himself, thanks to which they were achieved.

XX and XXI - a turning point for the development of architecture. The huge historical heritage that has been developed over the millennia for many creators has become not an inspiration, but a burden that hinders the creation of unique works. Therefore, many works should be considered in the context of an era that needs originality and a deep content of even the simplest works.
