The peculiarity of modern painting of Uzbekistan in the Moscow Museum of the East

Since July 19, the Museum of the East has hosted the exhibition "Calender" of young artists of Uzbekistan. The works presented for viewing relate to a peculiar modern artistic movement formed on the territory of the country in recent decades.

The trends of 21st century art are very contradictory. Artists seek to reject the achievements of past times, but be understood, if not through reason, then on the basis of sensory response. Consequently, the means of expression, and themes for the works are selected on the basis of purely personal, extremely subjective experiences and perceptions.

The peculiarity of this exhibition is that, despite the different approach and painting technique, each creator seeks to lift the curtain over the mystery of the universe and show the public what is hidden behind the mask of apparent reality.

The cycles of the paintings “Homeland Travel” by Fayzulla Akhmadalliyev, “Reflections” by Jamol Usmanov, “Mirror of the Soul” by Murad Karabaev and “Garden of Oblivion” by Babur Ismailov are an exciting fairytale journey - sometimes scary and appealing to the dark side of any person, sometimes magical and pleasing to the most the bright sides of the soul.

It should be noted that Kalandar is not just a sonorous name, but the definition of a wanderer seeking his own path to God. Denying earthly riches, if they interfere with seeing the Truth, not recognizing any other truth, except for Love permeating the universe. The artist is like such a traveler, always going to the ideal - creativity, purifying the world and making people kinder.
