Dialogue of two eras - pearls from the collection of the Nantes Museum of Fine Arts

On August 24, a unique exhibition opened in Moscow, composed of paintings belonging to two radically opposite eras. The Russians got a chance to see priceless works of art, because now large-scale repair work is being carried out in the museum building in Nantes.

In order for the works of art “not to be bored” without spectators, the administration decided to send them on a world tour. And until October 21, every resident and guest of the capital who is interested in Western art has the opportunity to appreciate a grandiose collection of the best European artists!

The collection of the Nantes Museum began to be compiled at the beginning of the 19th century, paying great attention to the acquisition of paintings belonging to the brush of famous artists. The paintings of Rubens, Monet, Signac, Delacroix, Jan Brueghel the Elder and other venerable artists became its basis. And after the end of World War II, they began to pay most attention to the preservation of the works of contemporaries. Which are often created in protest against the old, "ossified" art. As a result, the museum in Nantes is one of the 5 best European collections and can boast of great works covering a huge period in the formation of world culture!

It would be impossible to place all the paintings in one place, so the organizers decided to attract two museums to create the exhibition - portraits went to the State Center for Contemporary Art, and landscapes to a similar museum on Petrovka.

To see all these works of art without leaving the country is luck for many domestic art lovers. And carefully composed exposition, the pictures of which seem to lead a dialogue with Time, will be remembered by all its visitors for a long time!
