The photo exhibition "The Romanov Family Album" opened in the Tobolsk Museum of the History of the Development and Study of Siberia

September 3 was a landmark event for the Urals, in Tobolsk, an exhibition of rare photographs of the royal family was opened. The exposition was 86 little-known personnel, which reflect the features of the imperial family’s family life hidden from prying eyes. Spending leisure time, solemn moments, important events - all this has been preserved for posterity thanks to skillfully made old photographs.

The personal life of Nicholas II and his household attract researchers not only because of their tragedy. It is also interesting for that aesthetic, spiritual component that all aristocratic circles of that time sought to realize. History itself turns to us from photographs and represents not so much the last Russian sovereign, but an ordinary person surrounded by loving and beloved people.

The exhibition was organized on the occasion of the 95th anniversary of the arrival of the imperial family in Tobolsk. For them, it was a fairly bright, albeit varied period. A calm life, broken only by going to church, physical labor, walking in the courtyard and communicating with each other.
