Artist V. Emelyanov presents his linocuts at the exhibition "Graphics"

The St. Petersburg branch of the Russian Union of Artists has provided its own exhibition hall for the exhibition of Honored Artist of Russia Vladimir Emelyanov. Emelyanov received his art education by graduating from the Repin Institute with a degree in graphic art. The art of the artist, who works not only in the graphic technique of painting, but also writes his work in watercolor, and also has the author’s individuality of the drawing in pastel.

The exhibition’s exposition, dedicated to the upcoming celebration of the anniversary of the artist, who turns 75 this year, presents a series of engravings, the plots of which the master drew on creative trips around the country. Working for about ten years as a marine painter at the Museum of the Navy, Emelyanov visited many fleet-based locations, bringing new works from each trip, most of which were dedicated to the Northern Fleet.

Based on natural works, the artist created a unique series of linocuts that tell about the discreet beauty of Siberia and the Far North. A remarkable work was the design of a book written by the famous writer Viktor Konetsky “Yesterday’s Concerns”.

Unique views of the Northern capital are not ignored by Emelyanov. The White Nights series became a work that embodied the artist’s personal attitude to St. Petersburg and its culture. Emelyanov participated in many art projects dedicated to St. Petersburg.

The artist has repeatedly traveled abroad, from where he brought many sketches and finished works with pastels. He painted fire scenes, ancient buildings, temples - the master around him captured the whole world around him in his works. The exhibition, which can be visited until September 16, is only a small part of his work.
