Founder of Moscow surrealism Viktor Krotov at an exhibition in Voronezh

Entrepreneurs of the city made a unique gift to the residents of Voronezh. With their assistance at the Voronezh Museum. Kramskoy opened an exhibition of works by a representative of the Moscow school of surrealism, a world-famous artist Viktor Krotov. The artist brought to the exhibition a retrospective of his works, performed from the beginning of 1977 to the present day. In total, visitors to the exhibition will be able to see about one hundred and fifty works by Viktor Krotov.

Voronezh residents and city guests, who managed to visit the exhibition in the first days of its work, spoke with enthusiasm about the artist’s works. Indeed, the exposition of the exhibition, which included bright works of various styles and genres, was able to give the audience an excellent mood. Krotov’s canvases contain associations reminiscent of the bizarre images of the famous master of surrealism Dali, but amazing combinations of colors, his own fantasies and images make his work recognizable among works made by artists working in a similar style.

At the exhibition, Krotov presented his canvases, written in an academic manner, as if showing that he was subject to any style of work. In addition, the artist showed a work that is an author’s technique - ink drawing on silk. The author considers his version of the famous painting "The Last Supper", which the artist also included in the exhibition, to be a new word in art. On his canvas, a table with the apostles sitting behind him hovers in the air, Christ has no face, and male and female figures serve as a support for the soaring table. The author explains that this is a symbol of the masculine and feminine principles of the people.
