Personal exhibition of paintings by George Leman - a journey through Russia

Today, October 31, the exhibition hall of the Russian Union of Artists, located on Pokrovka Street in the city of Moscow, invites all residents and guests of the capital who want to get acquainted with the work of the national artist Georgy Leman to the opening of a personal exhibition of his paintings. The master’s personal exhibition is dedicated to his 75th birthday, a date that speaks of the great creative path traveled by the artist.

The exhibition presents works by which it is possible to trace how over the years an increasingly demanding attitude of the painter has formed not only to the painting technique, but also to the meaning of the works he creates. The exhibits were more than a hundred works by George Lehman. Among them are paintings from his personal collection, but most of them were provided by galleries and private collections. During the opening ceremony of the exhibition, there will be a presentation of the album “Painting”, just released by the capital’s publishing house.

To visit the exhibition of Lehman’s works is like making a trip to the most picturesque places in Russia, to see the corners of nature untouched by civilization. In modern life, it is difficult to find a sense of peace, characteristic of the master’s canvases, generously endowing this calmness with the audience.

The paintings by George Lehman are surprisingly airy. Everything that is depicted in his landscapes seems to be transparent - trees and houses, grass and hills. Soft shades of colors used by the painter in their works give landscapes a special charm. In addition to corners of nature in landscapes, Lehman paints with great love paintings depicting ancient Russian towns, revealing to the audience the beauty of the creations of ancient architects.
