In honor of the anniversary of the artist Viktor Sorokin in Lipetsk opened two exhibitions

LIPETSK. The birthday of the national artist Viktor Sorokin, who would have celebrated his 100th birthday on December 25th, began to be celebrated with an exhibition of the master’s works, “fate itself bequeathed to me…” that opened on the 24th. The exhibition is located in the halls of the Lipetsk Art Gallery, where visitors can see 30 works of the hero of the day.

In addition to the exhibition, on the same day, the presentation of the monograph album “Victor Sorokin”, created by the works of many people, took place. This book is a portrait of the artist, the benefit of the collected memories of his contemporaries of the artist, not only about the work of Victor Sorokin, but also about him. An art historian Tatyana Nechaeva, who is a corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Arts, worked on the monograph as an author / compiler.

According to her, the work on the book was not easy, many questions arose during the work. There were problems with clarifying the dating of some of the painter’s works. The author of the idea of creating a monograph was the Lipetsk art gallery with the support of the administration of the Lipetsk region.

On December 25th, the anniversary exhibition “Master is waiting for you”, as well as the presentation of the film created by Sergei Tikhomirov, also opened in the House of the Master. The film, which tells about the life and work of the painter, is called "four times of life…". The exhibition will present visitors with more than forty works by Victor Sorokin, and eleven of them entered the museum shortly before the anniversary, received from the Department of Culture, which bought these works from private collections.

At the end of the anniversary celebration, the regional exhibition hall of Lipetsk will invite everyone to the opening of the exhibition of Lipetsk artists, where the names of the best artists in all categories will be named.
