"Full growth" painting by Vladimir Tovkaylo

December 7 in Kiev, in the halls of the Museum of Russian Art, the opening of the personal exhibition of Vladimir Tovkaylo - "Full growth". The basis of the exhibition was the work performed by the author in recent years, from 2010 to 2012.

20 paintings exhibited a variety of techniques and plots. The artist was inspired by the ideas of magic, ephemerality. He incorporated so many mythical and folklore images that he began to act as the Storyteller. Which, however, does not so much retell other people’s stories, but creates his own.

Studying the composition of most of his works, you begin to notice a great resemblance to the icons. Which again emphasizes the artist’s great affection for national roots, interest in the religious side of life.

Therefore, despite the fact that the drawing style is more drawn to a naive, rustic image of images, each canvas is full of symbols. They intertwine with each other and suggest that only a person with a pure heart, who has preserved his childhood ability to love the world as a whole, can not look beyond the curtain of the mystery of being, without denying or exalting anyone.

The exhibition invites visitors to plunge into the space of a fairy tale and find the echoes of a distant childhood, endowed with healing power. Ukrainians and guests of Kiev will be able to see this exhibition until December 23, 2012.
