"Archive" by Alexei Chistyakov in the St. Petersburg art gallery AL-gallery

ST. PETERSBURG. On January 17, a large-scale exhibition of the works of one of the most famous Russian abstract artists - Alexei Chistyakov, will start.

The artist first started exhibiting back in 1982 and since that time has held more than 10 major solo exhibitions, took part in many art projects, and has gained fame in Europe, America and Australia. His works are highly appreciated not only by compatriots, but by foreign collectors.

A characteristic feature of this abstractionist is the fact that the artist himself does not consider himself an abstractionist. In his own eyes, he is more a researcher - an inquisitive experimenter, studying all the subtleties of working with different materials, textures, colors.
