The best works of folk artist Alexei Krasnov at an exhibition in Tambov

TAMBOV. The first exhibition, which opened this year in the hall of the regional art gallery, became a dedication to the anniversary of the national artist of the Russian Federation Alexei Krasnov. The artist’s work is well known to those who have in their memory images of his works, often printed in illustrated magazines of the Soviet era. Many connoisseurs of pictorial art remember the canvases written by Alexei Krasnov, exhibited at exhibitions throughout Russia.

Alexei Krasnov wrote his works in various genres, his creative heritage consists not only of famous historical paintings - after the artist there are landscapes, portraits of his contemporaries, as well as many expressive drawings. The canvases made by Alexei Krasnov’s brush embody the entire spiritual world of the painter, everything that the artist aspired to, what excited him.

At the opening exhibition, dedicated to the 90th anniversary of Alexei Krasnov, visitors will be able to get acquainted with the originals of the best works of the master, recognized by connoisseurs of painting as masterpieces. The exhibition exposition is composed of 13 paintings by the artist. In addition to paintings, at the exhibition you can see a sculptural portrait of Alexei Krasnov by Konstantin Malofeev.

Among the topics of interest to the artist was the theme of village life, which was popular in those years, to which his early works were devoted, which became the basis of the Modern Village cycle. The most significant of the painter’s works are devoted to World War II. Among the works of the military theme, the picture "For the native land" became the main one in the work of Alexei Krasnov. The painting “On the Defensive Frontiers” painted in the last years of his life is connected with the biography of the master, whose best works are stored in the Tambov gallery.

The exhibition is available to the visitor until the end of February.
