The memory of the artist Yuri Raksha is dedicated to the exhibition that opened for his anniversary

UVA. In the hall of the museum. M.V. Nesterov January 20 opened an exhibition dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the artist Yuri Methodievich Raksha, the master of brush, who lived only 42 years, but left a bright mark in the art of painting. In his creative heritage there are many graphic works, the artist designed about twenty books, he wrote 150 paintings, among which was a painting of various genres.

Fifteen years of his life, Yuri Raksha devoted his work to Mosfilm, where over the years he acted as a stage director in fifteen films. Most of his works in cinema are widely known; to date, they are popular with the public. Among them were such famous films as “Dersu Uzala”, Larisa Shepitko’s work “Ascent”. For work in the film "Dersu Uzala" the main artist of the film was awarded the Oscar.

After the award ceremony, the director of the film, the famous director Akira Kurosawa, noted that he did not have to work with a more professional artist. Although most of the filming took place in the taiga, the efforts of the director helped to look like the Far Eastern landscapes on film were natural.

As the director Vladimir Vasiliev, who worked on the film from the Soviet side, said, the sketches made by Yuri for the film were closed at night under lock and key. So they were saved from the robbers, because they were real works of art.

The exhibition in the Nesterov Museum included almost all the works of Yuri Raksha stored in his collection. Among them are the famous ones - "Self-portrait", "Dream", "Rear". All the paintings presented at the exhibition are fanned by the romance and spirituality of strong and bright people looking from the artist’s canvases.

The last, the main thing in life, the work of Yuri Raksha “Kulikovo Field” can be seen in the Tretyakov Gallery.
