The anniversary exhibition of the famous artist Nikolai Bureychenko has opened

MOSCOW. The exhibition hall of the Partnership of Painters invites connoisseurs of pictorial art to visit the anniversary exhibition of the world famous artist Nikolai Ivanovich Bureychenko. The exhibition, open on January 25th, is timed to coincide with its 85th anniversary.

Nikolai Bureychenko was born in the Stavropol Territory, where he spent his childhood, in these parts he survived the invasion of German occupiers. He received professional education in Leningrad, where in 1958 he graduated from the Art Academy. Repin. Then he lived and worked for several years in the Trinity-Sergius Lavra.

A special attitude to the war experienced by a teenager manifested itself in paintings painted back in the Soviet years. In his painting “The Great Victim”, dedicated to hoisting the Red Banner over the symbol of fascism - the Reichstag, the naked hero is depicted naked, which made him defenseless. His vulnerability looked like a sacrifice made in the name of the Great Victory.

The banner that crowned the Reichstag became a symbol not only of military victory, but of Good, crushing Evil. Colleagues who saw this picture talked that Christ was depicted on the canvas. Due to this “similarity”, the picture was not presented to the general public for a long time.

Only after the artist wrote the painting “The Baptism of Russia”, which was a huge success and highly praised by Patriarch Pimen, Nikolai Bureychenko was able to show the audience “The Great Sacrifice”, exhibited along with the “Baptism of Russia” in the Red Chambers.

In recent decades, when a new period in the history of our country began, Nikolai Ivanovich wrote a considerable number of large-scale paintings with religious subjects, highly praised for their highest professional level. For his work, the artist was awarded awards worthy of his great talent.
