"I keep this city" - an exhibition of St. Petersburg artists in Simferopol

SIMFEROPOL. The Art Museum of Simferopol invites connoisseurs of painting to visit the exhibition of St. Petersburg artists “I keep this city”, which opened on September 2. The exposition was created by the St. Petersburg Exhibition Hall "Manege".

At the exhibition, Crimeans will be able to get acquainted with the works of artists, whose work is known not only to residents of St. Petersburg, but also to many other cities of the country. Their works are in the collections of prestigious and famous museums in Russia, including such as the Tretyakov Museum and the Russian Museum.

Acquaintance with the works of such remarkable artists as Petersburgers Lyubov Kostenko, Igor Petrov, Boris Zinkevich, as well as works created by his father and Tatarnikov brothers Oleg, Peter and George, will allow visitors to the museum to see the peculiarities of the picturesque culture of St. Petersburg.

The skill of the artists makes it possible to notice how high the level of fine culture in the Northern capital. The canvases created by each of the authors expresses his view of the world surrounding the artist and his own perception of the city.

On the canvases of Petrov, the city becomes mysterious, dissolved in the winter light of a silver-blue hue. He writes places far from the center, often in its landscapes you can see the suburbs of St. Petersburg, connected with the history of the city.

Zinkevich’s city landscapes are recognizable, however, each of them serves as a barometer of the author’s emotional state. They may be joyful and sad, but they can fill the city with romantic sophistication.

The paintings of Lyubov Kostenko are full of expression, the life of St. Petersburg is full of movement on them, but in the paintings of the Tatarnikovs the city looks majestic and strict.
