The Moscow Museum awaits guests at an exhibition of artists who created a picturesque image of the capital

MOSCOW. Since April 20, an exhibition has been opened at the Museum of Moscow, in front of visitors of which an image of the capital, displayed in works of art, will appear. An exhibition of this scale over the past quarter century has been held at the Museum of Moscow for the first time. The creators of the exhibition presented at the exposition works made by authors of different generations.

Museum visitors have the opportunity to get acquainted with more than one hundred and fifty artists who worked in different areas of art. Representatives of the avant-garde, artists who worked at the beginning of the past century and during the war years found a place in a single exhibition space. Next to them are the works of our contemporaries, many of which are members of the Russian Academy of Arts.

Creativity of artists is closely connected with events taking place in the world surrounding them. The organizers of the exhibition emphasized this important factor by dividing the exhibition space into zones, each of which combines works of art according to the themes and time periods of their creation.

One of the sections is devoted to events related to the construction of the capital. Part of the exhibition space is given to the works of artists who created the image of Moscow in wartime. After exploring these areas, you can get acquainted with the paintings of our contemporaries, reflecting the new look of the capital’s streets and sights that have recently appeared in Moscow.

The main exhibits of the exhibition were paintings from the collection of the Museum of Moscow, which stores a substantial amount of unique works. Part of the exhibition consists of works belonging to the collection of the Union of Artists of the Russian Federation. Took part in the exhibition and works belonging to the capital’s collectors.

The exhibition is open until April 21. During this time, the Museum of Moscow will host many interesting events.
