OMSK. A collection of works created by a Moscow artist with a French name, Valentina Mikhailovna Diffine, continues her journey through Russian cities. Since June 10, the exhibition "Light and Air" has become available to Omsk art connoisseurs. The exposition is located in the museum. Vrubel, where within a month it will be possible to get acquainted with the work of the artist, who saw the world around her bright and airy.

A surname unusual for a Russian artist, completely looking like Diffine-Christie - the memory of her husband, Diffine Evgenia Vasilievich, in whose pedigree there were French roots. He was also a talented artist, who had a huge impact on the early works of Valentina Mikhailovna.

The famous artist S. Gerasimov believed that Eugene Diffine is the main successor to the traditions born of the famous painter Korovin. Most of those who were closely acquainted with the work of Eugene Diffine, spoke of him as a brilliant artist with a great future.

However, the artist’s life ended when he was only 28 years old. He died in Samarkand, where he was evacuated. For his wife, Eugene Diffine forever remained an ideal not only in life, but also in creativity. It is not surprising that the artist developed her own style only in her mature years. Valentina Mikhailovna designated it as “spiritual impressionism”.

It is surprising that during the period of dominance in the Soviet art of socialist realism, the artist not only managed to remain faithful to her creative style, but also to develop a peculiar style of writing, unusual for that time. The traditional plots of her works are characterized by a unique plastic, obtained due to the lack of clear contours of objects depicted by a combination of colorful spots.
