An exhibition "Private collection" for the anniversary of the artist Igor Shipilin is opened at the Sevastopol Art Museum

SEVASTOPOL. A personal exhibition of the painter Igor Shipilin, one of the most sought-after Sevastopol artists, awaits guests at the Museum. Kroshnitsky. The exhibition, presented under the name "Private Collection" contains the best works of the artist, included in the collection of the family of Elena and Vasily Bazhenov.

With the opening of this exhibition, the museum congratulates Igor Shipilin on his 55th birthday. Igor Shipilin studied art of the artist in Sevastopol, having graduated from art school in his native city. His first works were watercolors painted by the artist in cozy Sevastopol corners, well known to the artist from childhood.

Improving their skills at the Institute. Repin, Igor Shipilin could not remain indifferent to the St. Petersburg landscapes, however, in love with Sevastopol, the artist returns to this unusual city. Now most of his paintings are painted in oil, in them he masterfully conveys the nuances of color, as he did in watercolor works.

Crimea is called "the side where the sun is." This is what Igor Shipilin emphasizes in his work. His paintings are filled with light and heat, even if they have rainy days or evening landscapes. They are filled with love for their city and its environs, where a huge number of studies were created, then turned into canvases of amazing beauty.

Igor Shipilin himself speaks of his love for the city, noting that most of all he likes places that have retained their historical appearance. but there are fewer of them. Therefore, the artist increasingly turns to the surroundings of Sevastopol, working on his paintings in Balaclava, Chersonesos, Apollon’s beam.

You can see Igor Shipilin’s paintings filled with light until December 6, and on December 3 to attend a creative meeting with the artist.
