VLADIMIR. “Chronicle” - this is what Suzdal’s schedule called Alexander Erashov his personal exhibition, which opened on September 12 at the Fine Arts Center. The artist became a resident of Suzdal about a year and a half ago. His move from Kazakhstan, where the artist was born in the city of Ermak (now called Aksu), was the beginning of the work of Alexander Erashov on a series of graphic works devoted to the history of the Vladimir region.
Since childhood, the artist was interested in history, but chose a profession related to art, deciding to study graphic art at Pavlodar art college. His specialization was poster design, illustration genre, caricature. After graduating from college in 2004, Alexander Erashov already in 2010 became a member of the Union of Artists of Kazakhstan.
His first exhibition, held a year after graduating from college, was 10 illustrations created by the artist for the book series "Kazakh Legends". A year later, an exhibition of more than fifty works by Alexander Erashov was presented at the regional art museum.
The artist is known to connoisseurs of graphic art by several graphic cycles - “Kings”, “Alphabet”, “People and Ships”. The artist presented these cycles, filled with irony, under the pseudonym "Amanita". The cycle created after moving to Suzdal, Alexander Erashov took much more seriously.
The artist could not remain indifferent to the ancient history of Vladimir Russia, which inspired him to a new cycle of graphics. At the exhibition, Alexander Erashov presented 20 works, each of which depicts an episode related to the life of the Vladimir-Suzdal principality.
The organizers of the exhibition managed to see interest in the exhibition among visitors. Some were attracted by the content of the graphics, while others were interested in the artist’s unusual style.
The Chronicle exhibition is open until October 12.
