Virtual library launched in Moscow metro Automatic translate
MOSCOW. About 30 posters with QR codes leading to a special portal of the virtual library are already hanging at Moscow metro stations. Now the library contains about 100 books of Russian poets, mainly works by Pushkin, Bulgakov, Lermontov, Chekhov, Gogol and other classics of Russian literature. According to the deputy head of the subway, Yuri Degtyarev, the virtual library is still in test mode, but it is planned to start its full-fledged work in mid-October.
Now, posters with QR codes that open access to the test library are hung out at the metro stations Dynamo, Krasnye Vorota, Belorusskaya (Zamoskvoretskaya line) and some others. “In total, under the test mode, about 30 posters hang in the subway, one or two at the station,” said the representative of the developer Mikhailov and Partners.
Posters posted on escalator platforms contain a QR code and instructions for using the virtual library. The instructions noted that users ’smartphones and tablets should have applications for reading codes and electronic books. In order to gain access to the subway library, a passenger must take a QR code and go to a website where any work from those stored there can be downloaded for free in FB2, Epub, PDF, Adobe Acrobat format, as well as read online.
The press service of the Moscow metro noted that the places reserved for posters with QR codes are still being tested and most likely in the near future the posters will be transferred to the cars themselves. “We will launch the project in full in the near future, testing is ongoing, and there is no exact final concept. Several options are possible, ”the representative of the metro press service said.
