Private Publishing House of Russia Gives Latvia the Strugatsky Works

RIGA. Terra Fantastika, one of the oldest private publishing houses in Russia, donated to the Latvian National Library the complete works of the Strugatsky brothers, published in one large volume. The unique book was presented in connection with the celebration on May 4 in Latvia of the 25th anniversary of the declaration of independence of the republic.

Head of the Russian publishing house Terra Fantasica Nikolai Yutanov, director of the Latvian National Library Andris Vilks and chairman of the board of Hyperborea group of companies (St. Petersburg) Dmitry Kireev took part in the ceremony of transferring the collection of works of science fiction brothers. In a solemn speech, Nikolai Yutanov noted that the book contains only the jointly written works of the Strugatsky brothers. This is the most complete collection of their joint works. The personal stories of Arkady and Boris Strugatsky were not included in this book. The publication includes only prose, there is no drama, and it is not accompanied by illustrations.

The weight of the unique publication, which contains about 1,500 pages, is 15 kilograms. The book is designed in the traditional format of the ancient book publishing - in-quarto. The publication is intended for storage in a display case, box or on a special stand.
