In the library-reading room named after Turgenev opened the festival "Book shift"

The Turgenev library in its 130 years is not only doing well, but has also become one of the most popular cultural centers of the capital. A large book fund, modern technical equipment, an exhibition hall, regularly held concerts and presentations. In the cozy room, preserved in its original form with excellent acoustics, that warm atmosphere reigns that the guests of the library with such a cozy prefix “reading room” cherish. That is how Varvara Alekseevna Morozova dreamed of seeing her brainchild, on whose money the first free city library in Russia was built. One of the many examples of disinterestedness and spiritual generosity demonstrated by this amazing woman.

On April 14, a festival of literary novelties, invented by library enthusiasts and the Editorial Office of Elena Shubina, opened in Turgenevka. In the portfolio of this publishing house there is no frank graphomaniac slag. The presence of his logo on the book is a reason to at least look inside. The festival’s guests are waiting for heated discussions about literature and life, acquaintance with potential bestsellers, autograph sessions of Lyudmila Ulitskaya, Tatyana Tolstoy, Evgeny Vodolazkina, and theater readings. Promotions and reasonable prices for good books will help fill annoying gaps in home bookshelves.
