Book by scientist and poet Vladimir Aristov translated into English

NEW YORK. Publisher Ugly Duckling Presse announced the release of the book of Vladimir Aristov in English.

What We Saw from This Mountain is the first poetic collection by Vladimir Aristov, published in English. Pushkin "I believed harmony with algebra" - about him. Poetry, essay, prose harmoniously complemented his physical and mathematical career, academic degree and professorship. It is not in vain that the work of metarealists, in addition to Aristov, included Arkady Dragomoshchenko, Alexei Parshchikov, Ilya Kutik, and poet Konstantin Kedrov compared Einstein’s theory of relativity with the metaphor of the era. In the comments on the release of the book, the works of Aristov are compared with the work of late Mandelstam. American writer Michael Palmer calls him a brilliant representative of the generation who managed to breathe new life into the poetry of the post-Stalin era. Translator and literary critic Stephanie Sandler compares his metaphor-rich verses with beautiful music.

The book was translated by Julia Trubikhina-Kunina. In her luggage is a philological department of Moscow State University, a PhD degree in comparative studies, obtained at New York University, intensive teaching, translations, literary studies, work on her own poetry collections. A special place in the sphere of her professional interests is occupied by the work of Nabokov. Last summer, her book, The Translator’s Doubts, appeared on the shelves of bookstores, dedicated to his work.
