"Literary Argish" in the northernmost city in the world

NORILSK. The festival "Literary Argish" ended.

Frosts, which practically do not leave the northernmost city in the world, only foster interest in reading, creative pursuits, and a rich cultural life. The ethnic festival created in 2010 is very popular among residents of Norilsk and the Taimyr Peninsula. Its main goal is to preserve the language, customs, authentic traditions, culture of small northern peoples. “Big Argish-2016”, which was held on the eve of a long polar night, introduced various aspects of the life of indigenous peoples: national cuisine, ceremonies, folklore, rich tourism potential. Several sites of Norilsk hosted exhibitions of photographs. "OBJECTIVE Argish" - captured moments of the amazing nature of the Arctic, holidays and everyday life of northerners.

The fourth “Argish” included the literary stage, which took place from October 20 to November 17. The beginning of it was the contest of young readers. Pupils of grades 5-11 read excerpts from the works of local poets and prose writers - Lyubov Nenyang, Galina Kaptuke-Varlamova, Ogdo Aksenov, Andrei Romanov, Sergei Naumov. The 3D project “Landscapes and Poetry of Taimyr” by Anna Tolkacheva is of great applied value. Thanks to her idea of visualization, anyone can find out how a particular word sounds and is written in the languages of the indigenous people. During the festival, the presentation of the book by traveler Dmitry Shparo took place, meetings were held with writers - laureate of Yasnaya Polyana, finalist of several literary prizes Alexander Grigorenko, author of dozens of books for children Tamara Kryukova, writer and psychologist Ekaterina Murashova, Evenki writer Galina Kepuke-Varlam.

The finale of “Literary Argish” turned out to be very saturated. In the Norilsk Public Library, everyone found a case. The organizers offered an extensive and very interesting program. The guests enthusiastically drew comics based on northern legends under the direction of the artist Vladimir Lopatin, participated in the detective-intellectual game “Questoria”, a literary quiz in a poetic buffet, and the creation of the “Northern Video Book”. The Mandelstam-machine verses generator struck with the philosophical depth of the quatrains he created. Participants in the poetic marathon, members of literary clubs from Norilsk and Dudinka, read dozens of their poems and delighted with sparkling improvisations.
