Opening of the new season of the Russian-Italian BELLA Prize

MOSCOW. The organizing committee of the literary prize "BELLA" announced the beginning of the fifth season.

Season 2016-2017 for the BELLA Award is special. April 10, 2017 will mark the eightieth birthday of Bella Akhatovna Akhmadulina. Shortly before the organizing committee announced the award, it began accepting applications from applicants at the 18th non / fiction intellectual literature fair, which hosted the presentation of the book by Boris Messerer, “Bella. Romantic Chronicle. " All copies prepared by AST for sale were sold on the second day of the fair.

The enormous interest in The Little Bride of Bella is due not only to the fact that this is the first attempt at a detailed story about the poet’s life. But also in the delicacy that permeates the memories of her husband. The narrator deliberately retreats into the shadows, allowing the reader to hear Akhmadulina’s voice, her unique intonation, a story about the most important moments of life and work. The author offers his own interpretation of events only in those cases when it comes to the era, friends, those great and worthy people with whom this amazing marital alliance brought fate.

The victory in the Russian-Italian BELLA Prize will be awarded this time not in three, but in four categories. The jury will choose not only the best poems in Russian and Italian, but also an essay on contemporary poetry. In the new season, the Tonino Guerra nomination "Optimism - the fragrance of life" was established. The jury will choose the most life-affirming essay in Russian and Italian. Finalists will be known in March (the month of birth and death of Tonino Guerra). The names of the winners will be announced in April, during the celebrations in honor of the anniversary of Bella Akhatovna.
