Summary of the story "The First Hunt" by Mikhail Prishvin

It became boring for the puppy to frighten the poultry with whom he lived in the same yard. The little hero decided to hunt in the wild. The animals learned about his intentions and conceived to teach a little badass to a lesson.

The bittern hid in the reed thickets. Hoopoe pretended to be a colored flap, lying on the ground. A little turntable climbed into the hollow and hissed at the puppy like a snake. The lizard whisked under the stone, dropping its tail. Then the unsuccessful hunter decided to catch insects. There were a lot of them, but when the hero rushed to catch them, everyone was gone. A puppy could not see anyone, and butterflies, and grasshoppers, all hid.

Only one bug - the scorer did not seek refuge, he simply went about his business. The young hunter was delighted, ran to the bug and only wanted to grab it, as a tiny insect was sprayed with poison. The puppy was frightened, whined, ran home and huddled in the booth. And the animals and birds again went about their business.
