ST. PETERSBURG. Theatricals of the Northern capital had a unique opportunity to see during the days of the Roman Viktyuk Theater tour not only famous performances, but also the premiere of the play “Masquerade of Marquise de Sade”, which will be shown on January 8 at the Conservatory.

Rehearsals of this performance, staged by the Master based on the play by Andrei Maksimov, began last September, and tonight the director will present to the St. Petersburg audience a premiere performance telling about the life and fate of the famous philosopher and writer.

According to Viktyuk, he was looking for material for a long time, which would highlight the eternal problem of the relationship between the creator and the authorities. Only when Maximov showed him his work, the director realized that he wanted to see just such a play.

On the same stage, on January 7, Petersburg theater-goers were able to watch men playing female roles in the legendary performance “Handmaids”, with which Viktyuk visited twenty countries of the world. The premiere of “Handmaids” took place in 1988, but since 2007, the performance has been updated and a new cast of actors has appeared in it.

For two days in the Vyborgsky Palace of Culture, viewers watched a new performance by the director Requiem for Radames, where three famous actresses are engaged, decorating the Russian scene - E. Obraztsova, V. Vasiliev and O. Arosev.

Viktyuk pleased the audience with another new production, who visited the hall of the Conservatory on January 6th. On stage, the passions of the personal lives of two great people were seething. Anna Terekhova and Igor Nevedrov played major roles in the play “Sergei and Isadora,” which included biographical materials and Yesenin’s poems.
