"Vassa Zheleznova" - premiere on the stage of the Gorky Orenburg Theater

ORENBURG. Despite the fact that the regional drama theater bears the name of Maxim Gorky, his works have not been included in the repertoire of the theater for more than thirty years. The premiere of the play "Vassa Zheleznova and her children" became an appeal to the classical repertoire, which is represented by the work of the great writer.

Classics on the stage are always successful. Certainly, the staging of such a significant performance will become an adornment of the Orenburg theater poster and the repertoire of the regional drama theater. The theater actors worked on the creation of the play under the direction of Moscow director Sergei Yashin.

Stage design, performed by production designer Elena Kochelaeva, created a peculiar world around the characters of the play, filled with metaphors. She embodied an unusual scenographic decision on stage - the scene turned into a house-ship, which became the home of Vassa Zheleznova.

At the time when the plays written by Gorky were just born, their relevance was not in doubt and the staging of each of them became a significant event. However, the problem raised in the play “Vassa Zheleznova” in the modern world has not lost its relevance. Today, the significance of a person is even more noticeable than during the time when the heroine of the play lived, determined by his material wealth, on which success in society actually depends.

It is obvious that in the place of Vassa Zheleznova, a bright and strong woman with powerful will, it is not difficult to imagine a modern business woman whose soul is torn in the same internal contradictions. In the fate that befell the Zheleznov family, a reflection of drama, comprehending the home of many of our contemporaries. Living in an era when money becomes the main human value is difficult.
