Theater festival with the best Russian musicals in Novosibirsk

NOVOSIBIRSK. After almost ten years, the theater festival “Other Shores” returned to Novosibirsk, gathering the best Russian musicals under its wing. Its opening took place on September 27 at the stage of the Musical Comedy Theater, coinciding with the opening of the theatrical season on this stage.

The festival’s first performance was the musical The Wastelands, in which the main role is played by the composer who wrote the music for this performance - Maxim Leonidov. It is worth noting that this is the first experience of a tour of the Moscow musical theater.

In total, the festival poster presented seven musical performances. Four of them brought metropolitan groups, three performances will show Siberian theaters. Actors from Krasnoyarsk, Kemerovo and the closed town of Seversk, located in the Tomsk Region, will present their work to Novosibirsk spectators and guests of the festival.

The next day, September 28th, the musical theater representing the city of Kemerovo pleasantly surprised the audience. The actors showed the romantic musical Scarlet Sails, however, the author of the music for this performance was not Maxim Dunaevsky, but the composer Valeria Lesovskaya. Kemerovo artists are rightly proud of this work.

On September 29, the program was continued by the Moscow theater, led by Gennady Chikhachev. They showed an experimental production - a musical parable based on Aitmatov’s famous novel “Scaffold”. In this performance, the audience was able to meet with actors who previously worked on the Novosibirsk stage.

This will be followed by the “Captain’s Daughter” from the Moscow theater “On Basmannaya” and “Nameless Star” of the Seversky Musical Theater. Actors from Krasnoyarsk will show the Blue Cameo, and Yegor Druzhinin’s unique project, “Everywhere Life,” a participant in many world festivals, will complete the program.
