In the posters of the Musical Theater, which has been working in the building of the Gorbunov Palace of Culture for the second season, it is said that the premiere of the new musical The Wasteland, staged according to the novel by Valentin Kataev, will delight the audience on November 16th. However, yesterday, on October 30, the troupe of the theater staged a performance for "their own", an invited audience. The main audience in the hall were creative people and media representatives.

The artistic director of the theater Mikhail Shvydkoy decided to arrange such a presentation more than two weeks before the official premiere, with a definite goal - the creative public will be able to point out shortcomings in the play, and the director will have time to finalize the production. Therefore, Shvydko, in anticipation of the performance, told the public that the troupe shows only the stage of work on the production.

The story "The Wastelands", written by Kataev in 1926, was later reworked by the author into a play. This play became the basis for the musical libretto written by Alexander Shavrin. The author of the music for the production is Maxim Leonidov, who will play the main role in the play. After the operation on the ligaments, the upcoming singer, Alexei Kortnev will join the play, then they will play this role in turn. The authors of the choreographic component of the play are Egor Druzhinin and Natalya Terekhova.

The musical was presented by several musical numbers from the play, each of which could become a worthy decoration of the most prestigious concert. The audience was delighted with the gypsy ensemble that appeared on the stage, in which Tatyana Batmanova, who previously worked at the Romen Theater, was the soloist.

According to the director, although there is a lot of talk about money in the play, the play is that money does not make a person happy. At the premiere, it will be clear what is still the happiness of the characters of the musical.
