"When I was an adult" - premiere in the youth theater "City of the Sun"

KOMSOMOLSK-ON-AMUR. The Youth Theater "City of the Sun" presented its new work to the audience - a performance staged by young actors based on the play by St. Petersburg author Andrei Zinchuk, "When I was an adult." The fifth school of Komsomolsk provided the hall and stage for the show to the theater.

Lilia Pakhomova, director of the youth theater, received a play for the production from the author, whom she met on the Baikal island of Olkhon, where the Siberian Ramp-2013 theater festival was held. Amateur theaters presented their works at this international theater forum.

The youth theater team with their work once again proved that it is quite possible to speak about the serious problems of adults with children’s language. The staging of the play was warmly received by the audience, and this is not only the result of the wonderful work of the actors. It is important that Lilia Pakhomova is endowed with a unique talent to find and embody unusual plays by talented authors on the stage.

In an interview with reporters, Lilia Pakhomova said that the play is not a separate work, but the last part of the trilogy, on which Andrei Zinchuk worked for 20 years. His work is not intended for children, as evidenced by the epigraph of the play - "Life is passing." Her characters bear names - He and She. The play begins with the scene - She sits in the sandbox, cradling the doll

Everything that happens in the play is our life, only shown through the sandbox. According to the director, a firm desire to stage a play appeared at the moment when she read it to the place where He begins to build a garden for a future life. Heroes are played by Artyom Skvortsov (already having acting experience, and from this year a student of the Far Eastern Academy of Arts) and Ekaterina Yurikova, for whom participation in this play was the first experience of playing the main role.
