Shakespeare’s "Globe" will show in Yekaterinburg, "A Midsummer Night’s Dream" Automatic translate
YEKATERINBURG. The performance “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” on October 15 begins the Russian tour of the famous Globus Theater. English actors will present the famous comedy on the stage of the Sverdlovsk Drama Theater. In an interview with reporters, Tom Bird, producer of the London theater, said that Yekaterinburg viewers would not see a special, “visiting” version of the play. It will be shown exactly in the same way as the London public.
For this purpose, the Globus Theater troupe brought decorations with which the interior of the famous theater will be reproduced. Initially, “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” was created as a stationary performance, in contrast to Hamlet, which any stage is suitable for showing. ” For the performance, which the Yekaterinburg audience will see, the scenery was created taking into account the building of the theater, built in the form of the original “Globe” of Shakespearean times - without a roof.
Therefore, one of the main tasks of the tour was to recreate the atmosphere of the Globe. The illusion of presence in the famous theater was created with light touches, but quite reliably. The London theater interior remained within its walls, but at the same time, the audience will feel like in a Shakespearean theater.
When Tom Bird was asked to use not only the scenes of capital cities to show Shakespeare’s comedy, he had a desire to travel with this production throughout the country. However, the possibility of receiving the Globe is not available in all regions, so the residents of only four cities will be able to see the performance. After Yekaterinburg, London artists will go to Pskov, and then to St. Petersburg and the Russian capital.
There were many more people who wanted to see the performance of the famous “Globe” than tickets, so they added one more day ticket to the two planned evening performances.
