In Yekaterinburg, the festival festival-contest "Bravo!"

YEKATERINBURG. One of the most important events in the theatrical life of Yekaterinburg took place on the evening of May 16 - the opening of the Bravo! Theater Festival, which brought together theaters whose premieres of the 2013 season were recognized as the best performances of the season. Professional critics who participated in the selection of performances for the festival program had to pay attention to the 116 premiere performances presented to the audience in the 2013 season.

They considered 20 performances from various cities of the region worthy of participation in the festival, including Yekaterinburg. This year, 6 theaters representing the collectives of five regional cities received the right to participate in this prestigious theater forum. In the history of the festival, such a number of theaters from the region are marked for the first time.

The program of the festival announced three performances staged by graduates of two Yekaterinburg universities - the theater institute and the conservatory. A special award was established for them - “Hope Bravo!” She will be awarded to the best young actor. Determining who will be the winner is entrusted to a professional jury consisting of five theater critics. The Prize "Wind Rose" is also provided, expressing the audience sympathy. It will be awarded based on the results of the vote. Within the framework of the festival, the performances of amateur groups of the city will be shown on the stage of the actor’s house.

After the opening of the festival in the Opera Theater, viewers were able to see the one-act ballets Salieri Variations and Cantus Arcticus, which had just received four Golden Mask festival awards. The festival program on May 25 provides for the holding of a "round table" with the participation of leading theater figures. It will take place in the House of the actor. The names of the winners will be announced on May 28 on the stage of the Sverdlovsk Drama.
