Artists of the Pyotr Fomenko Workshop Theater presented the premiere of A Midsummer Night’s Dream Automatic translate
MOSCOW. Another stage reading of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” appeared in the repertoire of the capital’s theaters. In “Pyotr Fomenko’s Workshop”, viewers were presented with a new work by director Ivan Popovsky, who directed the most popular Shakespearean play. The premiere was perfectly received by the audience, who awarded the director and performers of his plan with thunderous applause.
Obviously, this performance, which appeared on the stage of Fomenkovists almost at the end of the season, will be another hit of the theater’s repertoire. Spectators who did not attend the first show of the performance may still have time to see “Dream” this season. In July, it is planned to show it four more times.
The wonderful play of the performance participants is complemented by the original work of the production designer. Unfortunately, in the program of the play he introduced himself in an original way too - he hid behind the abbreviation “P.O.P.” However, “Dream” owes much of its success to the artist who designed the stage with the minimum number of sets, but at the same time created a magnificent light score for the performance and original costumes for the characters in the play.
Sometimes the applause from the audience is intended specifically for the artist’s work - this is how viewers express their admiration for the beauty that reigns on stage. Each of those present at the premiere will surely remember the figures of the fairy musicians, soaring high above the stage. At the same time, the edges of their long and magnificent skirts almost reach its surface.
The passage of the ruler of the forest world of Titania with a retinue is accompanied by a mysterious iridescent fog. Such an effect appears through the manipulation of performers with a huge silky canvas. The directors and performers of the play conveyed the atmosphere of this magical fairy tale, filled with humor, easily and elegantly, and the audience appreciated their work.
