In Kaliningrad, the film festival "In short" started

KALININGRAD. From August 21 to 23, Kaliningrad will host the short Russian film festival “In Short” for the third time. During the three festival days, 34 short films will be shown to viewers, the duration of which will be 3-15 minutes. This year, more than 1,400 applications were sent to participate in the competition.

According to the results of the competition, the organizers of the film forum will present the finalists with prizes in five different nominations - “Best Director”, “Best Film”, “Best Screenplay”, “Best Foreign Film” and “Best Animation”. This year, the chairman of the panel of judges is Igor Tolstunov, president of the Profit film studio. The jury also includes actor Evgeny Tsyganov, director Zhora Kryzhovnikov, cameraman Eduard Moshkovich, actress Daria Ekamasova, critic Stas Tyrkin and actor Oleg Gruz.

This year, the Rostelecom company and the Russian Paramount Channel established a special My Hollywood Award. The winner in this category will be known at the closing ceremony of the festival on August 23. The creator of the best short film, according to Rostelecom and Paramount, will go to Hollywood to the Dream Factory. In addition, the winner’s film will be broadcast live on Paramount for a year. The award will be awarded to the finalist by actor Andrei Merzlikin.

Pictures from Egypt, Thailand, Denmark, Iran, Moldova, France, Finland, Spain and Kyrgyzstan will compete for the award in the nomination “Best Foreign Film”. In total, 13 foreign works take part in the international competition. The film of the opening of the film forum “In short” was the film by the director Pyotr Buslov “Homeland”, which will appear in the Russian box office in October this year.
