Theater "Comedian’s Shelter" presented the audience with the premiere of the play "Old-Fashioned Comedy"

ST. PETERSBURG. The repair ongoing in the building of the Shelter of the Comedian theater does not prevent the theater team from playing their popular performances on stages provided by their colleagues. Moreover, despite the difficulties, the actors of the Shelter of the Comedian are working on new performances, one of which was presented to the public at the end of last week.

The premiere of the play “Old-Fashioned Comedy”, written by Alexei Arbuzov several decades ago, took place on the BDT stage, and from November 8, premiere performances will continue at the Musical Comedy Theater. This play remains one of the most popular works by Alexei Arbuzov, which still attracts viewers. The older generation of theatergoers remembers which famous artists played roles in the "Old-Fashioned Comedy", on the stages of which theaters they shone.

This time, "Old Fashioned Comedy" became the benefit of Era Ziganshina, an outstanding St. Petersburg actress. Era Garafovna herself suggested that the theater management play the role of an eccentric circus cashier who came to rest in a sanatorium. Her proposal coincided with the long-term dream of the director Alexander Isakov - “Old-Fashioned Comedy” from the first reading was among his favorite plays.

Era Ziganshina’s partner in the play was Sergey Parshin, a colleague of Era Garafovna at the Alexandria Theater. This wonderful duet, which embodied the development of relations between two elderly characters on stage, won the audience in the audience. Initially, the characters in the play experience a feeling of irritation towards each other, however, it gradually develops into sympathy. Comic skirmishes between them are replaced by soulful lyrical scenes.

At the end of the play, the audience was overwhelmed with emotions - the audience applauded, continuing to laugh, but many had tears of laughter.
