The new production of "Puppet House" moved the characters of the play to the future

ST. PETERSBURG. On December 29, viewers will see the premiere of the play “Doll House” staged by the young director from Moscow, Yuri Kvyatkovsky, in the cozy hall of the Drama Theater “Shelter of Comedian”, which from its foundation has become one of the leading stage venues in the city.

The play, which became the basis of the play, belongs to the pen of the famous Norwegian classic Henryk Ibsen. His work is well known to the theatergoers of our country. Almost every play written by a playwright has become a study of the problems of the society in which Ibsen’s contemporaries lived. However, this does not mean that the “Doll House” affects only the end of the nineteenth century. Many of the problems raised by the playwright in his works are relevant to this day.

The plot for “The Doll House” was written using a real story told to the playwright by his acquaintance, a young writer, who had a situation in life similar to the case described in the play. Yuri Kvyatkovsky, emphasizing that the story of a young woman who feels that she is a person and with her escape from a prosperous home defends the ability to have the right to act, to independence, is possible in any society, the action of the play changes the time.

The characters of the play live in the future, where the ideal space of their home ultimately reduces the importance of human relations. High technologies solve everyday problems, capturing every thought of the heroes, only this even more aggravates the internal conflicts of close people. The text of the play was supplemented by the playwright Andrei Stadnikov, who added monologues to the actors in which they express their attitude to the problems that make up the essence of the play.

"Doll House" was the first performance staged by Yuri Kvyatkovsky in the theater of St. Petersburg.
