Voronezh Youth Theater presented the audience with the premiere performance "The Examiner"

VORONEZH. It is impossible to count the number of performances staged by Gogol’s famous play The Examiner over the 180 years that have passed since that comedy, unique in its relevance, was written. It was embodied hundreds of times on the stages of the most famous theaters, and the phrase about the unexpected arrival of the auditor in the county town, uttered by Gorodnichy, has long turned into a saying.

Once again, Alexander Latushko, artistic director of the Voronezh Youth Theater decided to tell about the unpleasant news that excited the county town official. In his opinion, for a worthy performance of this play it is necessary to have a sufficiently strong creative team. The skill of the actors of the Youth Theater is great enough to turn to the production of The Examiner.

The theater has already held preliminary screenings of the play, and on November 27, the new work of Alexander Latushko was officially presented to Voronezh viewers. Some directors consider it possible to “modernize” classical performances, transferring the time of their action today, dressing up the heroes of plays in modern costumes, introducing profanity into their speech, which has become the norm for many.

This approach of staging the classics is rarely accepted by the audience, and the ideas of the authors, embedded in their performances, do not find a response from the public. Alexander Latushko did not experiment - the “Inspector” in its reading is sustained in the classical tradition. A well-chosen acting ensemble surprisingly accurately managed to convey the characters of its characters.

In the role of Khlestakov appeared before the audience Yaroslav Kozlov. He convincingly transforms into his hero, depending on the circumstances, instantly passing from despair to bragging. The situations on stage are similar to our real life. This was noted by many viewers.
