Chelyabinsk - a city with a favorable atmosphere for innovative cinema and art house festivals

CHELYABINSK. The Full Arthouse Festival invites guests again.

The traditions of successful rental of auteur cinema in Chelyabinsk are quite old. Full Arthouse is the direct descendant of the New Cinema of Russia festival and the popular Art Line program, which operated within its framework in the early 2000s. The organizer of the arthouse festival in 2013 was a film club named after the actor and director Leonid Obolensky.

The correct selection of the film repertoire, including the most interesting and relevant news, thoughtful work with the audience, allowed us to form a grateful and caring audience in the Ural city. Her ability to perceive and adequately evaluate the most complex cinema language contributes to the popularization of Russian intellectual cinema, and hence its development.

The festival, which opened on February 19, is being held for the fourth time. In addition to the premiere of "Francophonie", presented by director Alexander Sokurov, the festival guests are offered an extensive and varied program. Premieres of new films by Alexei German, Alexander Mindadze, Georgy Parajanov, retrospective of Sokurov films, creative evenings, meetings with interesting guests.

The competition program of the festival includes “The Seagulls” by Ella Manzheeva, “Aventur” by Irina Evteeva, “Brother Deyan” Bakur Bakuradze, “Angels of the Revolution” by Alexey Fedorchenko. For dessert - section of the “Colors of the World” program, in which festival guests can see sensational news from the giants of arthouse cinema: the provocative biopic about Eisenstein Eisenstein in Guanajuato by Peter Greenaway, Maraviglioso Boccaccio (Decameron) from the Taviani brothers (Paolo, Vittorio Taviani), The Tale of Tales (Scary Tales) by Matteo Garrone.
