Spectators of Magnitogorsk were the first in the country to see the play "Victory Days" based on the play by Ksenia Stepanycheva

MAGNITOGORSK. Magnitogorsk theater-goers were the first Russian audience to see the documentary performance “Victory Days”. His premiere took place in the theater. Pushkin May 5. Maxim Kalsin, the director of the theater, worked on the production. The author of the play, which received a stage embodiment in the Magnitogorsk drama, Ksenia Stepanycheva, a young playwright from Saratov, attended the premiere.

Her works are well known in the world of theater. They entered the repertoire of many Russian theaters, successfully participated in prestigious drama competitions. Ksenia Stepanycheva also has a screenplay in her creative luggage. Based on it, Stanislav Govorukhin, a famous director, directed the film "In the Jazz Style", awarded the prize "Golden Rook". The play “Abduction” was awarded the literary prize “Debut” in 2012.

Ksenia Stepanycheva’s creative experience is already solid, however, the playwright wrote the play on a documentary basis for the first time. The work on the play was complicated and lengthy. The playwright took more than a year to create the play directly, and before that, about two years were spent collecting materials. Ksenia Stepanycheva calls “Victory Days” the most important of the works she wrote.

The play was written by the playwright back in 2010, but until today there was only her shortened radio version and several student works. Director Maxim Kalsin became the discoverer of the play "Victory Days" for Russian viewers. According to the director, the text of this play, composed of monologues of fictional characters, was a shock to him.

The basis of each of the monologues was the memory of the Victory Day meeting, supplemented by stories of personal events that took place with the heroes of the play during the war years. As a result, the play became a group portrait of an entire generation.
