The special significance of this award is that it can be received by any employee of the theater, regardless of whether he goes on stage, or from behind the curtains helps the birth of each of the performances.

Vakhtangovs themselves choose the winners, anonymously, in a secret ballot. This year, the Theater Man award ceremony was held for the second time. The awards also come from the Vakhtangov Theater - they were created by Maxim Obrezkov, the main artist of the troupe. The first award was presented to the theater director Kirill Krok. Then the branches of lilac, in the form of a golden brooch, Rimas Tuminas handed backstage to the workers.

The winners were the employees of the dressing and dressing rooms. Galina Bazhanova, the head of the costume shop, was the first to enter the stage with applause. The next award was also presented to an employee of the costume team. Raisa Donnikova has been working in the theater for 50 years, dressing both great masters and young artists. The third prize was awarded to Olga Kalyavina. The head of the make-up shop has been creating unique images for almost 40 years.

From the female staff of the theater, the award was awarded to People’s Artists of the Russian Federation Maria Aronova and Lyudmila Maksakova. This year, the oldest actor of the troupe, Vladimir Etush, also became the “Theater Man”, to the applause of the audience, he expressed his gratitude to the theater. The award marked the work of director Vladimir Ivanov. He received the award and the performance "Minetti" - the directorial work of Rimas Tuminas.
