Valentin Mikhailovich was born in 1928 in Nizhny Novgorod.

1949 - graduated from the Ivanovo Art College in painting.

1955 - graduated from the sculpture faculty of the State Art Institute of the Estonian SSR in Tartu. From 1980 to the present, he lives and works in the city of Kaluga.

1957-1961, 1967-1971, 1975-1979 - Chairman of the Tyumen organization of the Union of Artists of the RSFSR.

1973 - Laureate of the Prize to them. P.P. Ershov of the Tyumen Komsomol.

From 1980 to the present he lives and works in the city of Kaluga.

1989-1991 - Chairman of the Kaluga Organization of the Union of Artists of the RSFSR.

1995-1997 - Deputy Chairman of the Kaluga Organization of the Union of Artists of the RSFSR.

2001-2010 - Member of the Council for Architecture and Urban Planning under the Governor of the Kaluga Region.

1996, 1998, 2005, 2009, 2010, 2012 - winner of the prize in the field of fine art. Athanasius Kulikov.

2006 - Laureate of the forum “Public Recognition”.

2013 - Laureate of the Prize of the Governor of the Kaluga Region "For achievement in culture and art."

2015, 2016 – laureate of the Union of Artists of Russia Award of the WTO

Belov V. M. was a delegate of the II, III, V, VII congresses of the Union of Artists of the USSR; I, II, III, IV, VII congresses of the Union of Artists of the SRFSR. He was awarded diplomas and honorary diplomas of the Ministry of Culture of the RSFSR, the Secretariat of the Union of Artists of the USSR and the Union of Artists of the SRFSR. Has government awards:

Valentin Mikhailovich works in the field of easel and monumental sculpture, as well as graphics and painting. Since 1952 - participant of international, all-Union, republican, all-Russian, interregional, regional, regional, city and group art exhibitions.

The artist’s works are in many museums in Russia.

Monumental sculpture, performed by the author or in collaboration with other artists, is installed in many cities of the country: in Novokuznetsk, in Tyumen, in Tobolsk, in Kozelsk, in Obninsk, in Sukhinichi, in Kaluga. Belov V.M. is the author of many monumental works in Kaluga and the region:

1985 - “Marshal G.K. Zhukov”, Kaluga.

1995 - “To the Soldier Georgy Zhukov”, Kaluga.

1996 - “To the Warrior the Liberator” of Kaluga.

1999 - “To the soldiers-internationalists who died in Afghanistan and Chechnya”, Kaluga

Despite his age, the artist is actively working and preparing for the anniversary solo exhibition.
